Wedding photography, reportage, classic and photojournalistic style.

My approach to photography is basically reportage-style with a classic touch. When we speak of wedding photography, candid photos are the best, however, in some cases, especially when the subjects are a bit shy, I need to let them know what to do and how to move, making sure the final result is not spoilt by these instructions. This is what is called Illustrative Photography, in my opinion the perfect match between posed pictures (less spontaneous and not as constructive in their outcome) and an exclusively reportage-style service, where the photographer is a mere observer reporting the event and never intervening in the scene.

A candid wedding photography service

My aim is to create a reportage of your wedding so that the images I capture can tell the event in the most natural way. I want the images I shoot to make those who could not make it to the wedding feel like they were there too. I obtain this by snapping continuously, because seizing the moment is my priority. I learned this technique in my long experience as sport photographer, where swiftness is a basic feature. This is why I can take unique pictures capturing the most beautiful moments.

Photo Gallery of weddings in Italy

The gallery shows some pictures of weddings celebrated in Tuscany that I took in the last few years. Weddings in Chianti, in an ancient castle near Siena, in downtown Florence, in a private garden, a beach wedding and several other outdoors weddings. Among my favorites, the picture of the newlyweds clinking champagne glasses with the Tuscan hills in the backdrop, and the black and white picture of the arrival of the bride in a convertible along the tree-lined street. I love capturing details and portraying the guests, catching unique moments: the moment when the bride steps into her wedding gown, the bridesmaids cheering and shedding tears, the exchange of the rings and of the vows, the moving walk down the aisle of the bride and her father…

One of the best moments to shoot candid pictures is during the wedding reception, when all the participants are relaxed. I love to catch the details of the flowers, the table setting, the menu, the table plan (the “tableau de mariage”), the kids making faces in their smart clothes, the bride tossing her bouquet.
